A Message from our Head of EYFS, Mrs Sarah Barker
The Hive’s vibrant and nurturing environment and approach are built upon the belief that our youngest children learn best through exploration, play and meaningful experiences. By carefully observing each child’s interests, strengths and individual learning style, we create opportunities that inspire curiosity, encourage deeper thinking and help every child make excellent progress. A balance of child-led discovery and purposeful teaching lays strong foundations for future learning while preserving the joy and wonder that makes childhood
so special.
Children benefit from an enriching curriculum led by qualified teachers that extends far beyond the classroom. They enjoy weekly on-site swimming lessons, outdoor adventure through Forest School experiences and benefit from their own playground area that brings new possibilities to explore, create and grow. Whether developing new skills, building friendships or gaining confidence through these experiences, children are encouraged to embrace challenges and celebrate their own and others’ achievements.
Above all, The Hive is a place where children are truly known as individuals. Our strong relationships with families, combined with exceptional care and expertise, enable us to support each child’s academic, social and emotional development, ensuring they progress into the Infant School as confident learners ready for the next stage of their journey.
Provision Options
The Hive welcomes children after their third birthday, with families opting for either a year-round or term-time only provision. We are open from 8.00am-6.00pm with all meals and snacks provided during the day and included in the School fees.
Wrap Around Care
Our Wrap Around Care provision offers a seamless extension to the school day for children in The Hive, Infant and Junior School. In a warm, nurturing environment, children enjoy the reassurance of being cared for by familiar staff before and after school, while parents benefit from convenient drop-off and collection times that fit around work and family commitments.
